I'm originally from Cajun Country, Louisiana, and this chart was inspired by an old Zydeco song that is a family favorite. "Lache Pas La Patate" translates to "Don't drop the potato" and means Don't Give Up! Keep Going!

The Cajun people and the people of South Louisiana have certainly endured their share of tough times. This saying is a testament to the resiliency and enduring spirit of the Cajun people and I think that no matter where we are from, we all need a reminder from time to time to persevere even when a situation seems unbearable.

This chart features a lovely lady holding a basket of potatoes accompanied by momma and baby goat. They stand before a blooming cotton field.

The model was stitched on 36ct "Confederate Gray" linen from Weeks Dye works using Silk threads from Belle Soie, Needlepoint Silks, and Sol d'Alger. Please see photo above for a complete listing of threads you will need.
